Buzzathon Special: Rehearsal Tapes 1980's
I have an extra special show this week:
Never-before-heard-publicly rehearsal tapes from the 1980's featuring Paul Motian, Bill Frisell and Joe Lovano. I've got a couple of versions of Five (Bill Evans, composer), Paul playing his composition Lament on the piano in 4 different times, and more. Laughter and chatter will be included.

Donate to WRFR's Buzzathon to support low power community radio. The station would like to move from the converted garage we currently occupy to Lincoln Street Center which is just down the road. The studio will also be upgraded. To encourage donations during Uncle Paul's Jazz Closet, I'll be giving away an original, limited availability 3-fold brochure that Paul had printed around 1985 to the first 12 people who donate during the show. It has a selected discography inside, another photo and a publicity bio. Paul was trying to promote himself as a bandleader. He wrote in the back of his 1981 Band Book: Bill Evan's drummer in the 1960's, Keith Jarrett's drummer in the 1970's, Paul Motian's drummer in the 1980's.
If you can't make it in to the studio during the show to pick up your brochure, please send a business size SASE to me at : Cindy McGuirl PO Box 163 Thomaston, ME 04861 and I will mail it to you. You can donate online or by dropping a check off at the studio:
